AWin is the merger of a number of previous companies that have been at the affiliate marketing game for years.
I found out about them because I was interested in earning a referral (affiliate) commission for Etsy, really just for one product, the Lalvin EC-1118 yeast, cause it was a good price and why not. Turned out it didn’t work out to be such a great price once shipping was added in.
There was a $5 fee to set up payments, it seems like it may be sitting in my account until my first commission is paid out. Registration with AWin came through within three days, maybe within two.
Set up of bank info, that’s pretty standard, certainly it makes sense to get used to memorizing this information so that you have it easily trotted out for various places you’ll be entering it if you have various affiliate marketers. If you’re concerned about sharing this information, don’t be. A third party is UNABLE to steal from you with this info.
I mean, as far as I know, I looked into it once, was satisfied, etc. I also have/keep multiple bank accounts and so forth, sources of money that are unlinked. So far this is the stage I’m at, profile is set up – I don’t know why these things take so long, but of course if you’re planning as you’re filling out the forms then there’s some copy and paste and distraction as you try to keep the socials that you’ve just created humming along.
IMPACT – Not for Beginners?
Impact went a lot faster but I am still just in the first stage, it was a click-click fill profile sort of thing, it let me use my gmail. Waiting for approval!
It took awhile, maybe about a week or so, and I was… DECLINED! for RedBubble. Same with one of the stock companies I was considering promoting as an alternative to free in that relevant article. The potential relevant reasons for the decline in the Getty (and so, by extension, I’m assuming the other one) was:
- Website unavailable or low traffic
- Difficulty understanding how product will be promoted on website or how it will reach their intended audience
- Material they don’t like (liability in some way)
There’s also this article, I will go over this more in future, but the intention is to give a day-to-day account of me setting up things as I go.
(To some extent!)
A mission statement for life.
